  1. I didn’t get to see the match, but the view amongst Sounders fans is that Salazar always makes calls against us. I’m amazed he got this match.

  2. Hey dude, come back when you can make a coherent that makes sense. Begrudgingly (as a Sounders fan), congratulations on your Open Cup…

  3. Seattle fan here. Obviously I’m disappointed with the result, but really, Sounders fans can only blame the team for missing those last three PKs. Kansas City was really trying to gift us the trophy by missing first.

  4. Obviously the Sounders had the outcome within their control and didn’t convert on three straight PKs – it didn’t have to come down to the consistent inconsistency of Salazar … they controlled their own success.

That being said, if Gspurning is going to be called for coming off his line, then why is Nielsen’s similar play ignored? I guess because it wouldn’t be a Salazar match if you didn’t leave it scratching your head.

  5. As a fan without a stake in this game I feel as though Seattle got jobbed. Does Salazar have something against the Sounders? That was one of the more lopsided games in favor of the home team that I’ve ever viewed.

  6. As someone who has weak stomach for stuff that comes out of most Sounders Fans Mouths. I feel the need to say, sorry for your loss on what has been a good run for your club. As an MLS fan thank you for your sportsmanship!

  7. Boy oh boy, thanks salazar, you’re great. honestly, that was an amazing game by KC, there’s no blame to be placed on them. other sounders fans need to lay off KC, because even though it was a physical game, SKC wasnt at fault for the bs handball and the lopsided cards. the rational part of my head (even though its being overpwered) says that ozzie, christian, and eddie shouldve made those pks. Im glad skc won instead of san jose, houston or cascadia, and SKC fans, you better enjoy it, cause we/re winning next year’s cup! again, great job to KC, hope to see you in the playoffs and the champions league. hopefully we use this loss to kill San Jose. idk if i mean that literally or not yet,

  8. Gspoogey didn’t even start on the line to begin with on the PK that got called. And the ref didn’t cause Alonso and Johnson to biff the ball into outer space either.

  9. Probably sore losers, because it sounds like they were homered. Questionable Pk, no cards for kc, and I am sure neither keeper left early before the 9th pk. If I was a player I would be pissed he took the chance at 4 in a row.
For a the get rid of the turf t sounds like the grass wasn’t really helping the pk takers.
Sounders still haven’t lost a open cup match that doesn’t go to pks

  10. As a Sounders fan, congrats to KC for winning the cup. PKs are always a coin flip and it was an even match. It is what it is. Again, congratulations to KC. Nick, you need to try to get some class yourself. If the same had happened to KC, what do you think they would do? Grow up!!

  11. Wow. SKC gets the help from the ref for the trophy. Im pretty sure both Goalies were coming off the line before the call was made. What a joke call to decide the game. Neither team deserved it after that display, however the ref gave it away.

  12. Before the SEA fans go crazy…

    1) yes everybody cheats off their line to some degree on PK’s. Gsurpring (sp) appeared to not even start on his line. Can’t do that.

    2) Not even close to bush league by Nielsen. Keeper’s should do everything to get an advantage. To see the FIFA 12-esque movements from corner to corner was pretty cool, even cooler was his ratio of ‘pointing in the corner to guy skying PK’.
