U.S. U-17 national team coach Richie Williams announced his 31-player residency class for the fall semester Friday, one that includes 20 returning players who will train full time at the IMG Academies facility in Bradenton, Fla., ahead of the 2013 CONCACAF championship tournament in April that serves as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup next summer.

The New York Red Bulls' academy supplies three players, with goalkeeper Evan Louro, midfielder Christopher Lema and forward Wesley Wade all being part of this semester's class. Chivas USA's academy also has three players in the residency program, with defenders Adonis Amaya and Malcolm Jones joining forward Bradford Jamieson.

Some of the other more notable inclusions are playmaker Junior Flores, defender Tyler Turner, and forwards Corey Baird, Ahinga Selemani and Rubio Rubin, all of whom have been recent staples of the U-17 set-up.

  1. hoping that Shaquell Moore makes it.. USNT needs a Shaq!

and California dominating once again.. someday they should do a California national team, like Catalan has a team ever few years. a Cal-Tex game would be fun.. Landon vs. Dempsey!

  2. I think there was a tweet from one of Wash Post reporters that Flores sent him a text that the rumor that he signed a professional contract with an overseas team is not true. Regardless, if he continues to produce performances like he put together in Nike friendlies, he is likely to sign in Europe rather than going to MLS.
