The 2011 Eastern Conference finalists clash at Livestrong Sporting Park with plenty to play for in 2012, as Sporting Kansas City and the Houston Dynamo meet with an eye on improving their respective standing as the playoffs approach. Sporting KC is still very much in the mix for the Supporters' Shield, while the Dynamo have fallen a bit out of form (1-2-2 in their last five games), tumbling to fourth in the tightly contested East.

Out West, the Colorado Rapids' faint hopes at making the playoffs are on the line at the Home Depot Center, where the last two MLS Cup winners go head-to-head. The Galaxy have distanced themselves a bit from fifth-place Vancouver and are eyeing a top-three berth in the West, which would keep them out of the wild card round.

Here is the viewing schedule for the night's matches:

8:30 p.m. – NBC Sports Network – Sporting Kansas City vs. Houston Dynamo

11 p.m. – MLS Live/Univision Deportes – Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids

  1. Allocation money, DP’s, and they pay most of their team really low salaries. Aside from the new guy, not many players on LA make much more than 100K at best (not counting DP’s)

  2. The contrast in play vs the SKC is interesting. There is much more emphasis on possession in this one. Colorado is doing well to keep this game 2-0 at LA.

  3. The two guys that choked the most this game come together to snag the equalized in the final seconds of stoppage time.

    Talk about redemption.

  4. Zusi serves it up on a platter off the millionth free kick KC has had but Myers heads it down but straight at the keeper, about 80′. KC with chances but no finish

until Zusi serves it far post for sapong header…what a goal in extra time

  5. Also, Zusi is floundering in this second half. He’s squandered two really nice opportunities to play a teammate in on goal. SKC can’t have him messing up like this and expect to tie this up or even win.

  6. Davis doesn’t suck, what a nice strike lower far 90. Garcia fun as usual

Sapong header cleared off the line by Kandji, saved a goal right there 62′

  7. Pretty clear penalty not given.

Corey Ashe holding himself up off ground with his arm and cross goes right off his hand. Kamara thinks about breaking Ashe in half but is restrained.

  8. Dynamo needs to slow things down. They are playing SKC’s game of helter-skelter football. That is not their game. They will loses if things stay the same.

  9. Can someone point me to the last time Kandji did something other than shove people around and act tough while shanking a cross or shot or pass?
