The New York Red Bulls have made it a frustrating habit of starting matches slowly, but Thierry Henry has helped counter those slow starts with his own goal-scoring heroics.
Henry stepped up to pick up the Red Bulls yet again on Saturday, scoring two goals and setting up another in New York's 3-1 victory against the Columbus Crew on Saturday. Henry's goals, including a stunning goal directly off a corner kick, erased a third-minute deficit and made Henry the clear choice for SBI MLS Player of the Week honors.
Henry collected a long pass from Rafa Marquez for an early equalizer, then set up the game-winning goal with the corner kick headed home by Dax McCarty. He capped his night by striking a goal off a corner kick in jaw-dropping fashion.
Henry beat out Chicago's Alvaro Fernandez, LA Galaxy's Marcelo Sarvas and D.C. United's Chris Pontius for this week's honors.
What did you think of Henry's performance? Which MLS player impressed you the most last week?

MLB play was clever, but you could see something similar on any little league baseball diamond.
This one should be goal of the week because is rare and takes skill to do. DeGuzman’s goal would have won any other week, as it is a beauty, but these goals do happen more often then OlĂmpicos.
GOTW for sure, but Montero and De Guzman’s were pretty sublime as well. Good week for goals.
c’est de la balle atomique!
If he didn’t score the Gol Olimpico, his first goal would be Goal of the Week for sure. What a first touch!
M-V-P!
