From a team standpoint it was another rough week for Luis Silva but from an individual standpoint, the Toronto FC midfielder enjoyed as good a week as possible.
Silva scored a goal and assisted on another in Toronto's 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy, earning him SBI's MLS Rookie of the Week award. Silva's contributions temporarily gave Toronto FC life in a match that saw them initially go down 3-0, and they raised his season totals in goals and assist to five apiece.
Silva beat out Philadelphia Union fullback Ray Gaddis, D.C. United midfielder Nick DeLeon and Chicago Fire defender Austin Berry for the award.
What do you think of Silva winning this week's honors? Agree? Do you consider Silva a candidate for Rookie of the Year?

Him and Robbie Rogers need to come home…
The only bright spot all season….I hope he comes to play for boyhood team in LA one day
Silva is playing great. He deserves some love. Considering you have Berry listed in the “also ran” category nearly every week except the time or two he won, shouldn’t he be rookie of the year? Or will an offensive player take it again this season?
Go Gauchos!! Atta boy, Luis.
ucsb!
His is the only reason to go to TFC games this is a bad team!
I dont get to watch this kid enough. But its seems to me, that as this season has gone on, he has improved his play. In my opinion, this kid needs to continue to get games after the MLS season concludes.
Silva was the only bright spot in that game. Let’s hope that TFC don’t screw this up.
Silva has had a stellar year. However what about Felipe? Both of them are my rookie of the year candidates.
