Its broke. It’s been broke for a while now. Offensively, we’ve ‘shown’ poorly more than 50% of the games under Klinsmann….somebody needs to introduce him to the chalk on the sidelines…the field can be wider Coach.

Shea starts…if only because he is the only guy on the roster who will take on a player from the wing. I’d also move Johnson up and play with either Parkhurst, Orozco-Fiscal, spector or Parkhurst at left back.

    Shea—Dempsey—Johnson
    —Williams —Jones
    Spector-Boca-Cameron-Dolo

Been pondering the 4-2-3-1 line-up and now believe Shea should begin the game on the bench and be inserted later as a sub. That is how he has been most successful thus far with the U.S. and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. And, actually, Shea did not impress Friday night against Jamaica. Shea has been a wildcard the past year and if Klinsmann starts him and it is one of his bad nights, it is either waste a substitution early or watch Shea flounder.

We need Boyd’s physicality and explosive energy up top, and Gomez plays from the right at the club level and Dempsey often on the left. LB Johnson can overlap Dempsey and RB Cherundolo with Gomez.

Jones has a score to settle from the beating he took from Jamaican thugs Friday night and he should play defensive mid, as he does very, very well for Schalke–only moving forward now and then when given space. I wouldn’t mind seeing Jones get a yellow for a good challenge and he sits out the Antigua game next month.

If Klinsmann really wants to go for offensive fireworks, he could start Jozy as a withdrawn striker as someone suggested on a thread here a couple days ago. Jozy is much more technically advanced after a year at AZ and can also make some good passes and do the ol’ give and go.

If either Jones or Torres (Corona) is not working out, Klinsmann would haver Edu, Beckerman and Williams on the bench as substitute options. He also could shift Cameron up to defenseive mid and bring in Edu at CB. If Zusi (Jozy) fizzles, Klinsmann can move Dempsey over to attacking center midfielder and bring in Shea at left wing, or move Dempsey over and shift Fabian Johnson to left winger and bring in Spector as LB. (I don’t care what anybody says, we miss Castillo, who was excellent against Mexico and who I predict is going to develop into a key USMNT player.)
