The Philadelphia Union have fallen out of the playoff race, but they still have a chance to make an impact on that race tonight when they take on arch-rival D.C. United at PPL Park (8pm, ESPN2).

The Union are still technically alive for a playoff spot, but it will require a lengthy winning streak to make that long-shot a reality. They will look to start that run tonight against a D.C. side that is fighting for the fifth and final playoff spot in the East.

SBI will be providing live commentary on tonight's match so please feel free to follow along with us here. As always, you are welcome to share your own thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

  1. Really. I saw Freddy manage to sky a shot in the box. He also held the ball too long when passing it early would’ve released players.

I can see why he has a whopping 3 goals and 1 assist for the season. He’s just not very good right now.

  2. Well, Agbossoumonde wasn’t one of the CBs, but I get your point.

Why Porter insisted on playing Kitchen on the backline and bringing Okugo in as a late sub is beyond me. But let’s not get started on that debacle. I was this close to forgetting about it.

  3. Not surprisingly Freddy instantly becomes Philly’s best attacking player and other Philly players blow great opportunities served up on platters.

  4. In Philly’s defense — they only have six good players, five of whom are defenders or d-mids, one of whom is suspended, and the other of whom is Freddy Adu.
