Toronto FC looked like they might be able to snap their nine-game MLS winless streak and give the few fans who still made it out to BMO Field on Saturday something to cheer about. Unfortunately for TFC, another late goal allowed provided yet another disappointing finish in a nightmare season.

Philadelphia Union defender Sheanon Williams delivered an 85th-minute equalizer, finishing off an Antoine Hoppenot pass to help the Union escape Toronto with a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

After a scoreless first half, it was Toronto that looked poised for a win when Eric Hassli finished off a Luis Silva pass in the 58th minute. The Union, which enjoyed the edge in possession for much of the afternoon, couldn't muster quality chances on goal until the 85th minute, when Hoppenot slotted a low pass toward the front of goal that found Williams for the equalizer.

The draw pushed Philadelphia's current winless streak to seven matches, and also marked the Union's fourth draw in five matches.

Here are the match highlights:

What did you think of the match? Any encouraging signs for the Union? Has this been the toughest of all the seasons to be a Toronto FC fan?

Always liked Sheanon. Nice tools and skill set for a back. Would love to see him take a shot at Europe and be groomed as Depth for Dolo or a possible replacement I don’t see much else at rb for USA, ESP since Lichaj is apparently invisible to Klinsi.

Coming from a neutral, I weep for TFC.. So poorly managed they are no better now than ’06. The fans truely deserve better. Hopefully the investment in their youth academies can be the savior for this club.

You have got to be kidding. He has a long way to go before being considered NT material. One little tap in for a goal does not make him worthy of such praise. He had a number of weak passes and lack of continued effort today – like the entire team. I like Williams but his skill set really is not that extensive – as of now.

This game was terrible and a true waste of 90 min. of my life. Neither team is any good and Philly has regressed since Hackworth’s first handful of games. Philly has no midfield presence and they give the ball away with ease. Up top, McInerney is getting worse and Adu is hopeless as well. Hoffman came in and did nothing as well. Philly has been bad for the past few games. Perhaps it’s time for Hackworth to give Torres a shot with an extended run in the side.
