UConn may be the best team in the mighty Big East Conference, but the SBI No. 1 Huskies aren't the only team in the Big East with a perfect record. That distinction belongs to Marquette, which will put their 10-0 record on the line on Saturday when they play host to the top team in the nation.
Marquette has yet to face a ranked team this season and Saturday's match will provide the first true test of the season for the Golden Eagles, who are led by 6-foot-7 centerback Axel Sjoberg and sophomore goalkeeper Charlie Lyon. UConn's dangerous attack, led by Carlos Alvarez (pictured) and Mamadou Diouf, will prove tough to stop, while Marquette's attack must find a way to beat standout UConn goalkeeper Andre Blake.
A key Southern Conference clash takes place in North Carolina on Saturday, when SBI No. 22 Elon University faces No. 17 Furman. Elon boasts recent victories against West Virginia and Charlotte, but the Paladins come into the match riding an eight-match unbeaten streak.
Tonight's top match is a battle of Atlantic 10 powers as No. 13 Xavier plays host to No. 18 Saint Louis. The Musketeers are unbeaten this season, and have rattled off three shutout victories. The Billikens have won three straight, and have scored three or more goals in all three matches.
Here is a rundown of who the country's top teams will be facing this weekend:
