Delegates from all six remaining national teams in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying met on Friday to try and determine the final schedule for the Hexagonal round of qualifying. After reportedly being unable to reach a consensus on a schedule, he delegation ultimately agreed to have the schedule for the Hexagonal Round of qualifying determined by FIFA draw.
CONCACAF announced on Friday evening that the final schedule will be set by draw within the next 30 days, with reports in Mexico stating the draw will be determined on Nov. 7th.
The Hexagonal Round of World Cup qualifying will begin on Feb. 6th, 2013.
Seemed silly to think they could have pulled that off.
Had to figure that everybody wanted game #1 and #10 at home, none of the others wanted to play @USA in February, and everybody wanted Mexico in June when they might be distracted by the Confed Cup.
I can smell the corruption- count me in……. ill donate my inlaws and my don garber jk.
Mexico, USA, Costa Rica and Panama will qualify for the WC.
Yep
I am going to predict Mexico, USA, Honduras go in automatically then Jamaica plays New Zealand for the final spot. Costa Rica implodes and Panama loses most their games by slim margins.
I cant wait to see who, and where, we play our home “cold weather” games.
So what exactly is a “FIFA draw”?
Each slot lettered, schedule drawn, then teams drawn into those slots?
A FIFA draw is where FIFA writes down a number on a piece paper and if you agree to that number financially then you get the draw that you want.
+ 85 gazillion
That’s what the Qataris paid!
Wish I’d written that
Everyone agreed that after a couple of days hanging out and deliberating in Miami, they also wanted a ski trip to Switzerland.
So true!
US will win all their games and finish first in qualifying.
So everyone wants the last game at home, shocker
Wait, The US wanted to play at home in November and Mexico said no? Shocker
I kind of find it humorous that someone thought that all the remaining CONCACAF teams would actually agree on a schedule and not need some sort of mediation.
