Most Spurs fans rate Dempsey’s performance as “below average” compared to the rest of the team. He has looked fairly invisible with a few (too few IMHO) instances of game impact. Maybe he is doing some unappreciated stuff that AvB loves. Or he’s simply working up the match fitness and still figuring out his role on the team.
The Italian and Spanish commentators also thought he had a poor game and I reluctantly agree. To be honest, I don’t think Clint has played all that well for Spurs thus far but it’s obvious AVB rates him and will continue to give him minutes.
Brain McBride thought he had a good game…he was the color guy…
Still getting his fitness down…he has doen well for them in this his 5th match…
Gatt int the bench. Hopefully he can get back to pre injury form soon
Not a very inspiring performance from Tottenham. The whole team looked sluggish, sort of lifeless. Maybe just a natural letdown after the great high-voltage performance last weekend against Man U. Dempsey played as well as anyone on the team, had a couple of laser sharp passes in the second half through traffic to Dafoe , one of which probably should have been a goal. The equalizer from Panathanaikos came after Dempsey was pulled from the game for Siggurdson. Tottenham seemed to loose steam after Dempsy left the field, basically a carbon copy of what happened after Dempsey was pulled two weeks ago against Lazio.
Spurs hold on to draw. Clint played OK, no MOTM stuff but no stinker. Once he was pulled Spurs did not play better to me, the opposite perhaps. Don’t know about his fitness, but it’s nice to have Clint on late because he’s so great at finding space in the area, so when legs are tired he can find/create chances, if he’s fit
and just like that… 1-1 Tottenham Panathinaikos. Brilliant goal.
Tottenham has looked sharp but could use that secon goal to close up shop. Hugo Lloris had a very active first half for Spurs. The Panathiakos keeper has kept this game from being a laugher.
I didn’t tune in until right before he came off but the commentators seemed to disagree a bit
Dempsey subbed in the 66th for Sigurdsson. Played a good game.
Demps pulled in the 67th minute
Rapid Vienna – Y U NO START BOYD?!?!?!
Hostile environment? The stadium is more than half empty. Very quite atmosphere. Spurs leads 1-0 on a dawson goal. One hour gone in the match. Dempsey has had a good game. A near goal on a free kick in the first half.
