MLS Match Day: Your Running Commentary

The final weekend of action in the MLS regular season is upon us, and despite all playoff spots being locked up, there is still plenty to play for.

The Chicago Fire will host D.C. United in front of an expected sold-out crowd at Toyota Park in a game with huge postseason implications. Both teams are trying to lock up the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, and a win for either team would guarantee them that spot.

Over on the west coast, Chris Wondolowski will continue his chase for history as he and the San Jose Earthquakes travel to take on the Portland Timbers at JELD-WEN Field. Wondolowski is two goals away from breaking Roy Lassiter’s single-season scoring record, and he should have plenty of chances against a Timbers side that will be keen to play offensively in front of their fans.

As always if you will be watching any of today’s games, feel free to leave your thoughts, opinion and some commentary in the comments section below.

  2. DCU v Fire opening up in the second half. Huge saves by both goalies today and a flubbed shot by Fernandez keeps thing level at 1-1. Vamos United!
