Sunday College Rewind: Penn State upends Northwestern, New Mexico post strong shutout, and more

A rough week for Big Ten powers continued on Sunday a Northwestern saw a perfect conference record tarnished at the hands of Penn State, which handed the Wildcats a surprising 1-0 loss in Chicago.

Hasani Sinclair’s 104th-minute winner clinched the victory for the Nittany Lions and kept  SBI No. 12 ranked Northwestern from taking over sole possession of first place ahead of Indiana, which suffered a similar upset against Michigan on Saturday.

New Mexico posted its most impressive victory in recent weeks with a 2-0 shutout victory against the high-powered offense of CSU-Bakersfield. Levi Rossi and Adrian Mora Delgado provided the goals while the Lobos defense held standout Bakersfield striker Gyasi Zardes in check on their way to their seventh shutout of the season.

  1. This is unrelated to the actual content to the post, but I noticed that when there’s a white-colored image on the main “3-panel slideshow” on the front page, the white numbers are impossible to see. (Same goes for the black numbers on black.) Not sure if anyone cares, just thought I’d mention it!
