MLS Playoffs: D.C. United vs. Dynamo (Match Day Commentary)

The Houston Dynamo hold a two-goal lead heading into today’s Eastern Conference finals second leg-, but D.C. United will have considerable home-field support in a sold-out RFK Stadium today (4pm, NBC Sports).

D.C. United face a stiff challenge, as they try to complete the comeback without team scoring leader Chris Pontius, who is out injured. Some good news for D.C. has reigning MLS MVP returning from injury to make the D.C. bench.

The Dynamo will be looking to make their second straight MLS Cup Final, and will look to hold a lead for the second-straight playoff series. They almost paid the price for being overly defensive in the second leg against Sporting Kansas City, so we could see Houston attack much more today than they did against Sporting KC.

That’s lame. They earned their way there, pal.

The only thing that is clear is that you don’t know what you’re talking about.

  1. With all they learned from the olympics, NBC should be streaming this.

Granted, I just went to the NBC Sports site, and there isn’t a single mention of this game….

  2. Chris Korb impresses me again and again. All season long. Is he not speedy enough to be a fringe national team guy? The skills seem to be pretty strong.
