Who do you hope the U.S. Under-20 team is paired with in the upcoming draw? Think the U.S. U-17 team will defeat Canada on Sunday? Which players on the U-18 and U-14 teams are you keeping tabs on?

  1. Missing from the U-18 roster is the third leading scorer in the Concacaf Champions League. That would be The LA Galaxy’s 17 year old 6’4″ Jack McBean(stalk). But not by oversight as he will be with the LA Galaxy 1st team training for the Seattle game and (hopefully) the MLS Cup

Let’s hope that the MLS (and foreign) teams release our U-** players, to play in these tournaments ( which they do not have too) Imagine if out u-23 had Altidore or any of the half dozen starting MLS players at the Olympic Qualifiers. Mexico is making sure they get most of the underage players released from their respective clubs. Let’s hope the US does the same.

    • I don’t agree. I would rather have young players cement their positions and excel in their clubs instead of going to these tournaments. Development comes from clubs not national teams.

  2. Ben Ledermann is younger than the other players who were called up (he is U12), but he has good soccer brain and skills and certainly Barca pedigree does not hurt. I think this call up is primarily to show him some love and introduce him to the program. By the way, Timothy Weah is George Weah’s son.
