Americans Abroad: Weekend Preview

By FRANCO PANIZO

Chievo Verona deeply regretted having signed Michael Bradley to just a two-year deal prior to selling him to AS Roma this past summer.

They might soon lament that decision even more.

Bradley will face his former club for the first time since leaving when Roma travels to Verona to do battle with the Flying Donkeys. Bradley has been on a run of good form in recent weeks, and he looks poised for a big performance in the stadium that he used to call home.

This weekend will also hold special significance for Tim Howard, as he is set to make his 200th consecutive Premiership start for Everton on Saturday. Howard and the Toffees will visit Geoff Cameron and Stoke City, and the U.S. Men’s National Team goalkeeper will be aiming to record his first shutout since Sept. 22 (a stretch of 12 games) in order to make the match that much more memorable.

Fabian Johnson and Danny Williams are in need of a win after seeing Hoffenheim fail to come out victorious in their last six league games. The relegation-threatened club is currently six points shy of the safe zone, but they have a difficult task ahead as they host defending champions Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
