The Houston Dynamo have reached the MLS Cup final in each of the last two seasons, and they have locked up a number of their core players to ensure they continue to make runs at a title.

Midfielders Brad Davis and Adam Moffat and goalkeeper Tally Hall all signed contract extensions with the Dynamo, the club announced on Wednesday. The three Dynamo starters were all instrumental in helping Houston reach the MLS Cup final in 2011 and 2012, and they will remain at BBVA Compass Stadium for the foreseeable future.

In addition, backup goalkeeper Tyler Deric also agreed to a contract extension with the club.

“I am very happy these four players decided to re-sign and stay in Houston, said Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear in a statement released by the club. “It makes us a strong team for many years to come.”

“All four of these players are key pieces to our team,” said Dynamo president Chris Canetti. “It’s great to know that we have them secured under contract into the future. I look forward to watching them perform and contribute in 2013 and beyond.”

Per club and league policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

What do you think of the Dynamo signing this quartet of players to contract extensions? Think the Dynamo will be a contender out of the East for years to come? Who was the most important player to sign for the long term?

  1. A bit suprised by Tyler Deric — really seems like he is capable of getting regular playing time somewhere else and Tally isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

  2. Man, I sure hope we’ll have the funds to sign two superb offensive players this off-season more so if we’d like to take the CCL serious this time around.
