The Philadelphia Union will be making more than one stop during their upcoming preseason trip to Florida.

In addition to partaking in the 2013 Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic in Orlando, the Union announced Tuesday that they have agreed to a deal that will see them play a preseason friendly at EverBank Field in Jacksonville for each of the next three years. The first of those matches will see the Union take on another MLS team on Feb. 15, 2013, and kickoff is set for 7:30pm.

The upcoming friendly at EverBank Field will happen in the middle of the Pro Soccer Classic, which takes place from Feb. 9-23.

What do you think of the Union agreeing to play friendlies at EverBank Field for the next three years? Expecting solid turnouts by Jacksonville fans? Who would you like to see the Union play in that preseason friendly?

  1. We had 45k people in attendance for the US-Scotland friendly this May. While, we don’t realistically expect anything close to that, I think you will see a good crowd. We have a large population of young sports fans in this town and they don’t have the “look down at soccer” attitude that alot of people in the south have. We also have alot of transplants from up north and the midwest.

  2. This is a bit different than their trips to Costa Rica, Greece, and Mexico in previous preseasons. There were quite a few questions from fans in the beginning why the team wasn’t tuning up against more MLS style teams – I guess Hack feels differently about it than Nowak did.

    • Yeah, and that’s the reason why the Union fell apart because they were too busy vacationing and site seeing, and not enough time understanding their own league rivals, especially for a young team that Philly is.
