  1. Leave it to Mexico to get a penalty for a shoulder to shoulder play several feet outside the box. Not only was it not a foul in the first place, but the incident occurred several feet outside the box. Just because the Mexican runs a few more steps and falls down in the box doesn’t mean it’s a penalty.

    Just really, really atrocious officiating.

  2. So much of this game is hinging on passing quality and turnovers. Denmark’s individuals have great pace and skill but wow is Mexico forcing a lot of turnovers. If El Tri score, it will probably come from a turnover. Denmark should eventually get a set piece chance.

Actually a fun game to watch. Both these sides are comfortably better than what we and Canada fielded the other night. Different agendas I know but the quality difference is kinda striking.

  3. Also, while Mexico is only missing like 4 starters the technical in things as simple as receiving the ball and turning/passing deficit between them and us is GRAND CANYON WIDE.

  4. If you are watching this game it should be more than clear how Denmark trounced Canada. They are really, really good. They are taking it to Mexico in almost every facet of the game. They are technically superior, bigger, faster, and about the same in positioning.

  5. Dont be so negative. Dempsey has a few more game as a guaranteed striker. he may then ve relegated to the bench but you know he is the first person off the bench. 15-25mins a match. If Spurs do their best he will have CL in just 7months

  6. Dempsey out for Holtby and Holtby already making an impact… not a good sign for the future of Demps’ starting job. Though a good creating player like Holtby could feed well for Demps to finish. I guess we’ll see.

    • yeah, it would have been better for Demps had they signed another out-and-out striker. Though I don’t know all that much about Holtby.

    • Agreed. In Holtby’s first few minutes, he quickly put Dempsey on the bench for future games. Clint’s going to have to fight for it again, ’cause this guy is good.

      • Prophetic.

Per Mertesacker, doing what he does best, standing tall like a tree and getting beat.

dos Santos, doing what he does best, getting out worked by Henderson for a goal.

  7. Oh wow, Manchester United just gave up a bad goal. Awkward back pass made a mess of and Rodriguez steers it around De Gea and slots it.

  8. Completely off topic but is the nickname of FC Den Bosch really “The White Pride Dragons” or did some witty individual change their Wikipedia page after yesterday’s incident?

    Reply
    • Never mind, I figured out how to check the page’s history and I see it was changed yesterday from “The Blue White Dragons” to “The White Pride Dragons.”
