Manchester United will be looking to extend their lead atop the English Premier League to 10 points with a win against arch-rival Liverpool in one of the weekend’s most high-profile match-ups.
Liverpool won’t be an easy victory for the league leaders. The Reds have posted blowout victories in three of their past four matches, and the addition of Daniel Sturridge should only surge to make the Liverpool attack tougher to stop.
Arsenal will be looking to ride Theo Walcott’s strong form when they take on a Manchester City side in danger of falling out of range of Manchester United.
In Spain, Malaga will take their shot at being the first team to beat Barcelona when they play host to Lionel Messi and Co. Young striker Isco will look to cause problems for the Barca back-line, while Oguchi Onyewu just might feature against the La Liga leaders.
In Portugal, Benfica and Porto renew acquaintances in O Clasico, one of Europe’s better rivalries. Benfica is leading the Portuguese league, but their three-point lead could evaporate with a loss to second-place Porto.
