Americans Abroad: Weekend Preview

AS Roma fans are champing at the bit after seeing their club go winless in league play since the start of the new year, but Michael Bradley and the rest of the Giallorossi can change all that with a win this weekend.

Roma will try to pick up their first victory since December, a stretch of even matches without a victory, when they host Juventus in one of the weekend’s bigger match-ups. Bradley should play an integral part in the match, as he will need to help limit playmaker Andrea Pirlo while also trying to leave his stamp in Saturday’s marquee match-up.

Another of the weekend’s high-profile games will take place in Austria, as the third Vienna derby match of this season’s four will take place on Sunday. Terrence Boyd and Rapid Vienna are returning from their winter break looking to exact some revenge at home against their rivals, Austria Vienna, after having lost both of the first two meetings of the season by a combined score of 5-0.

FC Augsburg’s match with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday may not be as prolific as the aforementioned two, but it could mark Michael Parkhurst’s start for the club. Parkhurst made his debut last weekend by coming off the bench for the injured Ronny Philp and with the Romanian-born fullback likely out for the rest of the season, Parkhurst could get the nod and a big chance to impress his new coach.

Here is who the Americans Abroad will be taking on this weekend:
