SBI MLS Goal of the Week: Rodney Wallace

Trailing 1-0 in the 90th minute to the arch-rival Seattle Sounders, the Portland Timbers needed a goal to grab a point, and head back to Jeld-Wen Field with a result.

Thanks to a terrific header from Rodney Wallace, they were able to do just that. The Costa Rican’s goal was just the seventh of his career in MLS, and it earned him SBI’s MLS Goal of the Week.

  1. Nicely placed header but under no pressure, like pretty much all the candidates this week. I would’ve chosen Driver’s goal for Houston.

    • In a field of so-so candidates, Wallace’s was the most important so it wins. And that header was tougher than you’re giving it credit for being.
