From Clint Dempsey’s latest big goal to the successful weekend enjoyed by MLS teams like the Los Angeles Galaxy and New York Red Bulls, there was plenty to talk about in the American soccer landscape after this past weekend.

Episode 27 of The SBI Show covers all of these topics, and more, as co-host Garrett Cleverly and I touch on the exploits of some top Americans Abroad as well as the results from MLS Week Eight.

  1. Ives keeps saying that SJ is sucking because they lost Dawkins. SJ needs a left-sided mid/winger, but Dawkins was not all that important for SJ. Injuries to Chavez and Beitashour, have had a much greater impact on SJ. With all the SJ players who were injured for the whole of the off-season, there are a team with half their roster still in pre-season form.

  2. Ives completely agree with you on a healthy Salgado being a starter for the U20s.
