Toronto FC registered their third straight draw last weekend at PPL Park and the main reason they escaped their visit to Chester, Pennsylvania with a point was because of the heroics of goalkeeper Joe Bendik.

The former Portland Timbers netminder turned in a career day, recording nine saves, many of the highlight-reel variety, to help Toronto FC earn a 1-1 draw. Only a stoppage-time equalizer from Jack McInerney prevented Bendik from the shutout he seemed destined to earn. Despite that late goal, Bendik was still our pick for SBI Player of the Week.

Bendik beat out a strong list of candidates this week, including Portland’s Will Johnson, Houston’s Brad Davis and FC Dallas’ George John.

What did you think of Bendik’s performance? Who was your pick for MLS Player of the Week?
