When San Jose forward Adam Jahn came into Sunday’s match against the Portland Timbers in the 84th minute, he was brought on to try and help an Earthquakes attack that simply hadn’t been able to find a way past Timbers goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.

Jahn found a way, blasting home a stoppage-time equalizer to help the Earthquakes salvage a 1-1 draw on Saturday night. Jahn’s late-game heroics helped him earn SBI MLS Rookie of the Week honors.

The 22-year-old Stanford product previously won SBI MLS Rookie of the Week in Week 2 for another late-game stunner, that time against the New York Red Bulls.

What did you think of Jahn’s performance on Sunday? What rookie impressed you the most in MLS Week Eight?

  1. Hilarious that my comment got taken down from last night. All it said was Adam is such as Jawn I can’t stand it. Jawn can literally mean anything you want it to mean…

    1. jawn

a word used by Philly cats to describe anything and everything.
NY cats interject with the word “joint” but it doesn’t convey the same feelings.

I guess it’s true what Adam Carolla says, “The world is a magical place full of people waiting to be offended by something.

  2. Don’t get me wrong, Jahn scored a big, vital goal for SJ, but should 6 minutes of PT earn you Rookie of the Week honors?? Dillon Powers put in another solid shift in the Rapids midfield and continues grow and grow every week. Many times he looks like a seasoned pro. But maybe I should keep a lid on it sense Jahn did in 6 minutes what Powers and the Rapids couldn’t do despite the chances —- score!

  3. Nice goal. He’s been productive off the bench. Lenhart and Gordon aren’t getting any younger, he’ll make a good understudy.

  4. Dang. No Rapids winner this week. Brown pulled something in training on Friday and didn’t dress, and Powers went the distance, looked great v. Alonso & Joseph, actually, but no goals or assists. He had a nifty spin move with a shot just wide of the post.
