Chivas Guadalajara’s poor run in the 2013 Clausura season continued last Friday night, with the Goats suffering a 3-2 loss to Jaguares de Chiapas.

Rafael Marquez Lugo’s brace brought Chivas back level after falling 0-2 in the first half, but they were topped by Franco Arizala’s 80th-minute game-winning strike.

League leaders UANL Tigres continued their unbeaten start to the season, drawing 0-0 on Saturday against Club Leon. Dropping points to a struggling team like Leon had to be seen as a disappointment, but they weren’t punished for the setback because the two teams trailing them atop the Liga MX standings, Atlas and Club America, both settled for draws last weekend as well.

Monterrey suffered a setback on Sunday, falling 1-0 at Toluca after Juan Carlos Cacho put Toluca up 1-0 in the 71st minute.

The Rayados look to brush aside the defeat as they host the MLS Cu champion Los Angeles Galaxy on Wednesday in the second leg of their semi-final CONCACAF Champions League match. Monterrey holds a 2-1 aggregate lead after taking a road victory last week at the Home Depot Center.

Santos Laguna had a slightly better outcome this weekend, earning a road point in a scoreless draw. vs Club Tijuana on Saturday night. Joe Corona, Edgar Castillo and Herculez Gomez all started in the match, which was fairly even and included some controversy as a Tijuana shot appeared to go over the goal line on one sequence.

Here is a rundown of the weekend’s action in Mexico:
