Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will attempt to do what no Chelsea manager has done since May of 2010: beat Liverpool in a league match.
The last time Liverpool lost to Chelsea in the league also happens to be Benitez’s last loss as a Liverpool manager. This time around, the Blues are playing with a top four place on the line.
Chelsea-Liverpool is one of several important matches in the English Premier League this weekend that have major implications.
Tottenham Hotspur will host Manchester City Sunday morning in a match with major top four implications.
Tottenham have been on a run of poor form recently, having won only one of their last seven matches. Meanwhile, Manchester City have won their last four matches, including impressive victories over Manchester United and Chelsea. The Spurs have been handed a big boost ahead of their match against City, with Gareth Bale being declared fit for the match.
In Italy, AC Milan will travel to Turin for a clash with Serie A-leaders Juventus.
Milan have been in tremendous form recently, having not lost in the league since December, and currently sit in the last Champions League qualifying spot in Italy, just four points above Fiorentina. Juventus will look to avenge their 1-0 league loss earlier this season to The Red and Black, and inch closer to claiming back-to-back Scudetto titles with a victory against Milan.
