The Houston Dynamo’s ability to shut down the Los Angeles Galaxy’s dangerous attack not only helped them earn SBI MLS Team of the Week honors, it helped two defenders earn recognition for their part in the unlikely shutout.

Kofi Sarkodie and Jermaine Taylor were instrumental in posting a shutout at the Home Depot Center against the Galaxy, earning them each a place on the SBI MLS Best XI.

MLS Week Ten was a special week for goalkeepers and midfielders, with a plethora of worth candidates for those spots this week. New England goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth topped the strongest collection of goalkeeping performances all year to earn his place, while Sporting KC maestro Graham Zusi leads a quintet of midfielders who all contributed goals to help their teams earn important results.

Here are the rest of this week’s selections for SBI MLS Best XI for Week 10:

  1. What about every hack announcer’s favorite, Boneyass Garcia? Why don’t they just call him Garcia? Or just Boneyass? Is it that much fun to constantly say Boneyass Garcia?

  2. Very surprised to see Roy Miller even on honorable mention, I thought he reverted back to the guy we all have come to know and was very lucky not to be sent off, faked injury for what seemed like forever and then got replaced by Heath Pearce

    • Could it be that Roy get’s honorable mention for leaving the field before one of his classic meltdowns?

      I kid. 🙂
