HARRISON, N.J.– Reflecting on the news that Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to retire from football management, Red Bulls forward Thierry Henry kept coming back to one word.

“Legend.”

Speaking after his two-goal performance in the Red Bulls’ 2-1 win vs. Montreal, Henry said he had nothing but respect for the Manchester United manager who he faced on multiple occasions during his time in England.

“Everybody is sad for the game,” Henry said. “What a boss, what a legend. I have no words to describe what Sir Alex has done for the game. Mind blowing.”

Added Henry: “What I always remember is when he came along, he said before that his aim was to pass Liverpool, and he did, so you have to give him credit.”

“What a legend, that’s all I can say.”
