When manager Schellas Hyndman realized he needed to replace the injured George John in the lineup, Hyndman knew who to turn to.

FC Dallas rookie defender London Woodberry, a homegrown signing after four years at the University of Maryland, stepped in and turned in two solid starts last week. He helped FC Dallas rack up four points, and also earned SBI MLS Rookie of the Week in the process.

Making his first two starts in Major League Soccer, Woodberry helped his team earn a 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers and a 2-1 victory over D.C. United.

Woodberry beat out Colorado Rapids midfielder Dillon Powers, Real Salt Lake forward Devon Sandoval, and San Jose Earthquakes forward Adam Jahn for this week’s honors.

What did you think of Woodberry’s performance this week? Which rookie impressed you the most in MLS Week 11?

  1. ROW. Yes much deserved he is showing that he had the athletic ability and the drive to play at this level. I believe he is someone to watch out for.

  3. Maybe Dillon Powers might have been ROW had the Rapids midfield been…existant in this weekend’s game. But scoring a goal definitely helps

  4. I give Woodberry credit, but I think Matt Hedges deserves more credit for marshalling that defense.

Dillon Powers for me gets the ROW.
