Today’s soccer action is kicked off in Rome, where the Coppa Italia Final will see local rivals AS Roma and Lazio square off in an intense battle for cup glory and a spot in next season’s Europa League.
American midfielder Michael Bradley and Roma have the opportunity to claim the club’s tenth Coppa Italia cup trophy, which would move Roma ahead of Juventus as the competition’s most successful club.
Thwarting Vladimir Petković and Lazio will be no easy task, however, with the Biancocelesti having taken four points from their two previous meetings with Roma this season.
Later in the day, Real Sociedad will host Real Madrid in an ongoing battle to qualify for the Champions League.
Sociedad currently sit tied on points with Valencia for the last Champions League spot in Spain, and a loss against Madrid will be a massive blow to their European dreams.
Valencia, meanwhile, will welcome Granada to the Mestalla Stadium, who happens to be one of the bottom five clubs in the Spanish top division.
If you will be watching today’s action, please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.

Hell of a second leg . Club America champs on PKs
Hell of a game man. My whole family (uncles and cousins) were going crazy! Agulias ftw!
Couldn’t ask for a better ending to the season. Both teams played great over 2 legs. Congrats to Los Agulias!
Ives – what’s the word on Terrance Boyd? He’s had a decent (perhaps good) first season with Rapid so curious if he’s in their plans or a transfer is on the horizon this summer?
Thanks!
Hey Citronomics, the SBI Podcast had TB on the broadcast a few weeks ago. He was a fun kid and seemed to indicate that all is up in the air but that he is happy to be playing and producing. Give it a listen.
Also, as far I anybody knows at this point, there isn’t an imminent move.
Bummer for MB.
Ives Galarcep @SoccerByIves FWIW, this website has Michael Bradley rated as the top player of the Coppa Italia 1st half: http://bit.ly/19eVIt8
roma-lazio chippy as expected; lazio with the better first half. hopefully roma starts attacking more in the second.
Michael with a more than solid first half….
0-0 at the half….
O Brasileiro starts today! Woo-hoo! Well, actually it started yesterday with 3 matches. But everyone else plays their first match today, including Freddy and Bahia who play away at newly promoted Criciuma at 4PM local time.
BrasileiRAO, that is.
Brasileirão too be exact
Lazio getting the better of this one late in the half.
Any streams? My DirecTV is acting all screwy
Michael getting kudos from the announcers in the first 15 minutes….great to hear….
what a chance for MB there, darted late into the box smartly to pick up a loose ball and operated for an angled shot far post but a yard wide
Oh Bradley, close, had to hesitate to wait for the ball and just went wide.
Choppy early in the first 5
Broadcast under way….Michael in the starting 11 for Roma…of course…:)
Alright, a yank in another Cup final.
Too bad I am stuck at work. I would love to watch Roma vs. Lazio 🙁
