This weekend features the conclusion of the Spanish Primera Division along with a couple tasty international matches for your viewing pleasure.

Real Madrid will host Osasuna to finish off their underwhelming season, and Málaga will visit the Camp Nou to face the champions Barcelona.

Much of the focus on the last day, however, will be on qualification for the fourth Champions League spot and the battle to survive relegation. If Valencia are able to beat Sevilla then they will finish in fourth, qualifying for next season’s Champions League, but anything less and Real Sociedad can jump them with a victory over Deportivo.

On Sunday, the United States Men’s national team will face a tough test when they go against Germany at RFK Stadium in Washington DC. Later in the day, the US women’s national team will travel to Toronto where they will face the Canadians.

  1. Are we sure it’s on ESPN this time? For the Belgium game I ended up with 3 hours of 30 for 30 on my DVR and a whole bunch of empty beers in the trash.

    • I’m recording it on UniMas this time. I don’t mind the Spanish commentary and I at least know for sure the game will actually be on the channel it’s listed as being on.

  3. So the Premira get 4 teams in the Champions League? THe EPL only gets 3. Anyone know why?
    Thank you.

    • Confused by your question. 4th place EPL team is in Champions League just starting earlier in competition. Outside of that I believe it is determined by league coefficient.

      • I think the confusion stems from media (e.g., ESPN) sometimes distinguishing between the champions league qualifying rounds and the group stage (qualification vs champions league) and sometimes referring to all stages as the same competion. Either way, La Liga, EPL and Bundesliga get the same deal.

    • La Liga, EPL and Bundesliga each will have three teams in the champions league, plus one additional team in the champions league qualifying with a good probabiliy of joining the other three teams at the group stage.
