Ephraim’s loan at TFC ended, returns to QPR

Hogan Ephraim

By DAN KARELL

In news that shouldn’t surprise anyone, Toronto FC winger Hogan Ephraim was recalled from his loan deal at the Canadian club, returning to Queens Park Rangers.

The English club was relegated but appears to have Ephraim in their first-team plans this season, and want him fresh and ready to go come July. The 25-year-old played 11 times in Major League Soccer for manager Ryan Nelsen’s side, failing to score and picking up two yellow cards.

What do you make of the news? Do you see TFC bringing in more players on loan this summer? Do you think Ephraim should have stayed?

  1. Won’t be missed even by TFC. Totally lightweight, physically and seemingly mentally, got bullied in this league.

  2. Ephraim showed bits and pieces of class, like he has his entire career at QPR, but can’t seem to put it together. He was more effective than Bostock during his time here, but i got the feeling they were both played a little out of position – both didn’t create much on the wings; Ephraim looked comfortable staying behind the striker, but with the wingers not producing much going forward, was often left starved for options.

I would have liked to see him stay, but he would have likely been expensive, as QPR needs all the help they can get, financially and physically, what with their relegation. Hopefully he gets the playing time he needs next year.
