Liverpool FC released pictures of next season’s away kit on Tuesday, with current players on the squad modeling the uniforms.

The kits are the latest from American company Warrior, who took over the club’s kit deal in 2012 after six years with Adidas. The kit features a white top with black and red diamonds towards the bottom and two red stripes, black shorts with the stripes on the side, and white socks.

The goalkeeper uniform is an all purple kit, with black and white diamonds placed in the front of the top and sides of the shorts and socks.

What do you make of the design? Do you like it? Do you hate it?

  1. It looks like it should have a WWF belt with it. And in this corner, “Mouth of the South (America)” Suarez!!!!!!

  2. Right now Jen Chang is in a bar on Merseyside, trying to discover who designed the kits, and threatening to sue them if they design any more.

  3. Oh DEAR GOD previous commenters were right the 3rd kit is, against all odds, definitely WORSE. Geez, I think they ripped that off of a U-9 AYSO girls team. My lord, I kind of love these now. They’re circling back around to good-bad, they’re way past “horrible.”
Next year, they’re all just going to wear wolf-howling-at-moon t-shirts.

  4. Let’s leave the jerseys of the 90s behind along with the Public Service Announcements, TV Graphics, and the Fashions of “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”…

  5. Clearly WARRIOR must be owned by Manu or Everton, because they look like they’re on a mission to distroy our Image. I’m going to wikipedia thenm now.

  6. Apparently Warrior hired some of the Nike designers who have destroyed classic kits and jerseys around the world.

Great jerseys are classic, timeless, and instantly recognizable: see the New York Yankees, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Chicago Bears, and Barcelona (before last year). Why do these companies need to make a statement?

If you are going to go “outside the box,” have a reason: my Rapids did this blue/yellow jersey, but it’s based on the colors and the “C” imprint of the Colorado flag. Out of the normal path, but it made sense.

This jersey takes a classic red Liverpool jersey and puts a Fresh Prince of Bel Air pattern on it…why?

  7. Last home kit I purchased was the Carlsberg red with the form fitting sides some special affixes thing they were doing. The most perfect non crown paints kit.

Last away was the black with the silver pinstripes. I plan to go cry in it later. I should have bought the white with the red pinstripes. Which was the third kit that same black away kit year. Exact originator of the goalie kit this year. That as I recall and please correct me, was the last year addidas had the contract.

I think addidas must have known or bribed warrior to be this terrible right after they were this great.

    What’s Kappa doing these days.

  9. I don’t think I’ve ever read a positive reaction to a new uniform’s release in the SBI comments section. (Though this reaction is probably justified.)

  10. If you stare at Gerrard’s midsection long enough, you can see a stealth figher, or maybe a tyrannosaurus rex, I am not really sure.

  11. Does the black and red diamond pattern hold some kind of significance for the club? Is it supposed to represent something? I’m just searching for something that would make some kind of sense as to why this direction was taken. Because to be honest with you, this looks like a bad circa ’94 World Cup era kit.

  12. As we all bash this dreadful kit remember that someone got paid to design it and then even more depressing is a lot of people who are paid a lot more than that designer approved…

    • also, i can’t view the source image, but it seems like gerrard’s hands are positioned kind of awkwardly, right? like maybe he’s pointing at his knees for some reason?

    • We all saw Barca’s away jersey this past season. The bar has been set lower than low. There’s something amiss with jersey designers…

  13. Does this kit make my hips look big?

The fact that I’m asking this question should tell you how friggin bad this design is…

  14. That’s one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. Maybe opposing goalies will be blinded by their hideousness and they’ll score a lot.

  15. wow, def not going to buy that one. Its a good thing the home jersey and keepers jersey are solid, cause this one sucks

    • We are going to be the ridicule of all teams, I think the players are crying fowl for having to wear this ridiculous thing.

  16. I think that pattern would be perfect… if it were on a women’s cocktail dress. Unfortunately, they chose to make it into a craptastically ugly uniform.

    • As if Suarez didn’t have enough reasons to leave for Spain.

Another reason Jamie Carragher is happy he retired.

      • LOL, you are right. These warrior people have no Idea how a football uniform should look!
        Please Adidas SOS

    • The 80s/90s return with a vengeance!

It is debatable whether the purple/black/etc. third jersey is even worse.

      • No its not. I hated the purple black flames and the wetsuit this is worse. Bus full of burning nuns and orphans. I’m a Liverpool fan and as we have 2 bad kits in a row. Next season the potential hotels scare me.

    • Did you guys hear that?

It’s a bunch of xenophobic Liverpool fans pausing from burning American flags for whatever reason they choose this week to whine about an American company and the design of their kit.

If there’s one thing that will make them stop whining about the redesigned crest, is it’s the Trapper Keeper-themed kit….and frankly, I don’t blame them for this gripe.
