The New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia Union renew their I-95 rivalry today at PPL Park in the day’s marquee match-up in Major League Soccer.

Three MLS matches make up the day’s slate, with the Red Bulls trip south to face the Union in a clash of teams coming of lengthy MLS breaks.

In Portland, the Timbers return to Jeld-Wen Field to take on the Colorado Rapids. Caleb Porter’s side is riding a 14-match unbeaten streak in MLS play and can climb into the top five of the all-time list with a win or tie today against a Rapids side that has suddenly hit a slump.

The evening’s action is capped by the clash of Los Angeles teams, as the Galaxy face off against Chivas USA. The Goats are arguably the worst team in the league at the moment, but they face a Galaxy side that has been struggling as well. The return of Omar Gonzalez from international duty should provide a boost for the defending champions.

What’s the deal with Nagbe’s citizenship? Is he trying to get his US citizenship and play for the USMNT? Just curious….
