  1. Seems like Klins tried to start the game with Donavan in a spot that mirrors where he will most most helpful if he slides into the senior side. Right Mid, starting plays with speed, providing service, taking kicks. He didn’t really show up until he was moved into the spot where Dempsey has been playing for the past year. Can he not pay a ‘role’, or does he just have to be the main guy to be effective?

  2. It would be terrific if you set up an RSS feed just for the podcasts. Podcast apps cannot parse the archives page.

  3. The most beautiful sight in the U.S match is of Beasley speeding down the left flank in anticipation of the forward ball. Nothing more graceful.
Stu Holden is such an asset to the squad.
concerns: while Parkhurst is solid defensively, he adds very little going forward. If Cherundolo struggles, I believe there is time and room for Yedlin to emerge.
Castillo gets the ball in good spots but his decision making in the final third is suspect. Shoot the ball from outside the box if the shot is there.

  4. And again on Donovan…he has the LOWEST goals per game ratio of any of that exclusive club of 50 goal scorers…

    its not even close…

    • Are you really trying to diminish the accomplishments of someone that scored 50+ goals for their country? The other guys are out and out strikers. Donovan played the majority of the time as a midfielder. I can also guarantee the other guys on the list don’t have 40+ a$$ists to go along with the goals.

  5. Seriously I have read so many negative comments about going to Sunderland. Sunderland are a great team for Jozy to go to. He will play, if he makes an impact he will be sold.

Nuff said. (see Benteke at Aston Villa)

    • I don’t think this is remotely a good move for him. We have all seen how Jozy plays when he doesn’t receive good service from midfield (See Hull & US MNT). Sunderland has arguably one of the worst midfields in the league. Another rash decision rushing off to collect a paycheck and not thinking about his development and long term implications (World Cup). #regressing
