Without Will Bruin leading the line for the Houston Dynamo, the team needed someone to step up in his absence.

Against one of Major League Soccer’s toughest defenses, and on the road, Adam Moffat showed that he’s more than just a ball-winning defensive midfielder, unleashing a pair of his trademark long-range blasts to lead Houston to a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution. His stunning goals, including one Goal of the Year candidate, earned Moffatt SBI MLS Player of the Week honors.

Moffatt beat out New York Red Bulls captain Thierry Henry, Vancouver Whitecaps forward Camilo Sanvezzo, and Sporting Kansas City’s Soony Saad for this week’s honors.

What did you think of Moffat’s performance? What player in MLS impressed you the most in Week 20?

No kidding. Ives missed the mark here for sure. Morales was without Sabo, Rimando, Beckerman and Beltran and still led the team to victory. And it ended with a third string keeper between the posts. Morales is back to his form before his injury. He deserves some major praise.

+1 Javi was amazing on Saturday. I was thinking while watching it that he should get consideration for MLS MVP this year, but of course he won’t because MLS and MLS writers hate RSL.

The Glaswegian showed up with some intensity right from the whistle. He has the type of attitude and grit that usually takes Kinnear’s side to the MLS Cup. His blast was reminiscent of the Adam Bomb that he unleashed against RSL, and LAG in the 2011 playoffs.
