The MLS Rookie of the Year race might seem wide open to some, but with each passing week Dillon Powers puts a stronger hold on the pole position for the award.

The Colorado Rapids rookie turned in another pair of solid performances to help the Rapids register four points from two matches in a pair of shutouts. Powers played an important part in the Rapids midfield’s ability to control both matches, which helped earn him SBI MLS Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Powers turned in a tidy outing in the Rapids’ 2-0 win vs. the New York Red Bulls, and was a consistent threat in the team’s 0-0 draw vs. D.C. United.

Powers beat out a field that included teammate Deshorn Brown, Andrew Farrell and Taylor Kemp for this week’s honor.

What did you think of Powers’ performances for the Rapids? What MLS rookie impressed you the most in Week 19?
