  1. As a man who deals with these type of guys this is marketed too on a daily basis, i find this to be hilarious and genius!! And its airing during sunday night football makes it double genius!!!

  2. Hilarious. For a follow-up, they should have him asking about Dempsey. “Where’s that good oil’ boy from Nagadoches y’all were tellin’ me about? Clint somethin’? Yeah, maybe he’ll unnerstan what I’m talkin’ about. What? He got transferred? What is this, IBM?”

  3. I found it a little offensive until the parts when Sudekis was just riffing and improv-ing next to the players running drills around him. You could see a hint of smile on some of their faces. I bet he was cracking them up. That’s when I started seeing it as comic brilliance.

And, really, my guess is that this isn’t totally marketed to the current fan anyhow. If this makes fans of other sports laugh, then maybe it breaks down some walls and divisions to make soccer more accessible to them.

      • You’re not trapping me! It’s not about accuracy, it was that things were pointed out that didn’t have to be mentioned. They also were the only NFL team mentioned, so it was hating. On the other hand, that also let’s you know how relevant the Cowboys still are for the league that they get the only mention…

  4. With the money splashed on this commercial, NBC Sports could have put a good dent in purchasing Special One TV. Instant credibility amongst fans of the Premier League. Instead we get this.

      • I thought the same thing, would have been too easy to insert a Deuce joke in there (he comes to practice in football pads or something), especially since the promo is for the US audience.

Wonder if NBC asked and Spurs said no, knowing that he was on his way out.
