It’s been a busy opening to the 2013 Liga MX Apertura season, but the team that’s surprisingly jumped to the top of the table is Veracruz.
The promoted club, who last year were located in La Piedad, has received some massive contributions from Angel Reyna. The veteran Mexican midfielder scored another goal on Wednesday night in a 2-0 victory against Chivas, but he’ll be needed to score as Veracruz faces a difficult test in Cruz Azul. Reyna has already banged home five goals in three games.
Also in action, Club America plays just their second match of the season against Atlas, Pachuca hosts Leon in a battle of the two top-five squads, and Pumas hosts Tigres in what should be an entertaining affair.
