After missing a large portion of the first half of the season due to injury, Oscar Boniek Garcia is back to his dangerous ways, and the Houston Dynamo attack has a recent resurgence to thank for that.

The Honduran midfield ace was key in the Dynamo’s victory vs. Columbus, and his efforts earned him a place on the SBI MLS Best XI For Week 23. He was joined on the team by Honduran National Team teammate Victor Bernardez, who was key in San Jose’s win vs. Chivas USA.

D.C. United striker Conor Doyle scored his first professional goal, and added an assist, as an impact sub in D.C.’s surprising win vs. Montreal.  Meanwhile, Lloyd Sam turned in a standout effort in helping the New York Red Bulls pull off a road win vs. Sporting Kansas City.

Here is a rundown of the full SBI MLS Best XI for Week 23:

  1. I wonder if people who don’t see Boniek play on a regular basis understand what a beast he is. Truly one of the top two or three players in this league IMO.

Sean Johnson should never be listed above Nick Rimando on any list. Just sayin.

  2. And TFC’s Henry scares the stuffing out of me. Never know what you get from minute to minute. I guess being 20 does that to a Canadian CB.

  3. Nice to see Laba get the recognition. Getting better by the game. Monster game against NE. And not just for the goal.

  4. Obafemi looked more active than Eddie did against Dallas but that is me just nitpicking. Martins was going back and doing a lot of work in the middle of the field.
