In his first game back with the San Jose Earthquakes after spending the last month with the U.S. Men’s National Team, Chris Wondolowski hit the ground running.

The 30-year-old forward latched on to a floated header in the 45th minute from teammate Victor Bernardez and sent it into the upper 90, before adding his and the team’s second in the 87th minute in a 2-0 victory over Chivas USA on Saturday evening. The two-goal performance earned Wondolowski this week’s honor of SBI MLS Player of the Week.

Wondolowski beat out the Houston Dynamo’s Oscar Boniek Garcia, Seattle Sounders midfielder Brad Evans, and New York Red Bulls winger Johnny Steele for this week’s award.

What did you think of Wondolowski’s performance? Which player stood out to you in MLS Week 23?
