A major reason for the recent struggles of the Montreal Impact has been due to the lack of form of Felipe Martins. But on Saturday evening, the Brazilian midfielder showed exactly how good he can be and how much his team needs him.
Felipe scored one goal and set up another two to help lead the Impact to a 5-0 rout of the Houston Dynamo. Felipe’s goal was a Goal of the Week nominee, curling the ball into the side netting past Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall. Felipe’s performance on Saturday earned him this week’s honor of SBI MLS Player of the Week.
Felipe beat out teammate Marco Di Vaio, Kyle Beckerman, and Kelyn Rowe for this week’s honor.
What did you think of Felipe’s performance? Which player stood out to you in MLS Week 26?

Rowe, Rowe, Rowe your boat… He will be big for US come 2018.
Felipe had a great game, and I think on most nights that he’s the better player…but for this weekend I’ll take Rowe–those were great goals…
But Kelyn Rowe scored two awesome goals, which had the effect of the Revs finding themselves in the playoff places…
