Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with his teammates. He’s a demanding player who expects the best from those around him, and will let them know when they don’t live up to his expectations.

One player who has lived up to Ronaldo’s lofty heights is winger Angel Di Maria.

According to reports, Ronaldo was not interested in seeing the former Benfica winger leave Real Madrid this summer despite him falling further down the depth chart. Di Maria seemed to be on his way out with Madrid looking to sign Gareth Bale, even possibly as part of the transfer, but with that move seemingly falling apart Di Maria looks to be in Madrid’s plans for the upcoming season.

Di Maria started in 22 of the 32 league games he played in for Real Madrid last season, contributing with seven goals.

CHELSEA IN POLE POSITION TO SIGN ETO’O

With Manchester United not willing to sell Wayne Rooney to Chelsea, Jose Mourinho will have to look somewhere else to bring in another attacking option and seems like a move for Samuel Eto’o is in the cards.

Eto’s agent has confirmed that Chelsea are in the best position to secure the forward’s services if the London club’s pursuit of Rooney continue to be stonewalled. Eto’o played for Mourinho at Inter Milan, where they won a treble, and the Cameroon international is reportedly keen on playing for Mourinho again.

Eto’s club, Anzhi Makhachkala, is looking to cut some of its wages and Eto’o, one of the best paid players in the world, is the kind of player the club is trying to move on. And he seems set to abide and sanction a move away from the Russian club.

A return to Inter Milan has been muted for the player, but Chelsea are currently the preferred option.
