While a long list of traditional powers stumbling out of the gates to start the 2013 season, one of the few powers to get off to clean start to the season is Creighton.

The Bluejays climbed to the top spot of the latest SBI College Soccer Top 25 on the strength of a 3-0 start, outscoring opponents 8-1 during that stretch. The performance of those vanquished opponents has also helped Creighton’s standing, with Cal Poly posting a 3-0 win vs. previous No. 1 UCLA last week.

Washington climbed to No. 8 after recording a draw on the road against SBI No. 3 UConn. The Huskies suffered a tough blow though after having standout goalkeeper Spencer Richey lost for the season with a broken leg.

UAB broke into the top 10 after beating Indiana last week, but the No. 9 Blazers will have that spot tested against No. 14 Charlotte on Friday.
