A weekend of surprising results, and memorable matches in MLS headlines Episode 75 of The SBI Show.

From Portland’s impressive win vs. the LA Galaxy, to the Philadephia Union’s surprising victory vs. Sporting Kansas City, MLS Week 32 had plenty of head-scratching results that have left the Supporters Shield race and playoff chase even more wide open.

Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I discuss all of the weekend’s MLS action, as well as the latest on the Americans Abroad front. We talk about Aron Johannsson’s recent hot streak, Brad Guzan’s heroics for Aston Villa, and more. And as always, we take reader questions in the latest SBI Show Q&A.

I think the Supporters Shield SHOULD be more important than the MLS Cup… Anyone can get lucky one game, Supporters Shield should be more glorified than the MLS Cup

    • Mister JC

Wholeheartedly agree. It’s the one true measure of which club is the season’s best…

It would be if everyone played everyone else home and away but that doesn’t always happen and likely will never happen again after MLS gets past 20 teams. US is just too big to accommodate that European model perfectly.

cameron is a CM? since when – since his awesome game @ costa rica?

thought he played RB at stoke? thought he previously played CB in houston?

Ives – why do you think cameron is a good option in CM?

    • Ives Galarcep

Since his games at Jamaica and vs. Panama. In the Costa Rica game in San Jose I thought he settled down and did well after a rough start. He does play at RB for Stoke but played everywhere on the field at Houston. Centerback, right wing, central midfield. He’s versatile. Judging him strictly on the Costa Rica game, where the entire team struggled, is a bit much. He’s very much a viable option in central midfield.

Portland’s impressive win vs. the LA Galaxy….

Since when is it impressive for a team like Portland(given record and play as of late) as well as playing in front of thier fans to beat a floundering team and didn’t have thier best stuff 1- 0 and on a set piece no less?

They were lucky they didn’t share the points with the defensive mistakes.
