Liga MX Round 11: A Look Ahead

It’s a short week for Club Tijuana, but it’s probably all for the best as they look to get over their most recent disappointment.

Leading 2-1 at Chivas last Sunday on the road, Xolos allowed the hosts to gain some momentum late in the game before Marco Fabian scored a stunning free kick to level the scoreline, keeping Xolos outside of the Liguilla (playoff) places.

Now, returning back to the friendly confines of the Estadio Caliente, Xolos face a difficult test against Mexico City club Cruz Azul, who will no doubt enter the match with some anger after failing to score in a defeat to Tigres UANL at home last week. The last time Club Tijuana and Cruz Azul met, it ended in a 5-0 victory to La Maquina last April.

Also in action this weekend in Liga MX’s Apertura, Club America look to bounce back after a loss against upstarts Chiapas, first-placed Morelia host Monterrey, and Toluca host Queretaro.

  1. Good luck to Xolos, I hope they pull the win. Sources are reporting Herculez Gomez will play w/ the U-20 team today and will likely play in the CONCACAF champions league next Thursday as well.
