The Los Angeles Galaxy are missing their top three players to international duty, but that won’t stop the defending champions from trying to make a statement tonight in a key Western Conference showdown vs. the Colorado Rapids (10:30pm, MLS Direct Kick).
Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and Omar Gonzalez won’t be suiting up for the Galaxy, but Bruce Arena still has enough weapons to give the Galaxy a fighting chance. Youngsters Gyasi Zardes and Jose Villarreal will be asked to pick up the attacking slack against an overachieving Colorado side that needs a result to stay ahead of the trailing pack in the West.
The Seattle Sounders are also missing star power tonight, but they will be expected to still be able to defend CenturyLink Field against Mike Magee and the Chicago Fire (10pm, NBC Sports Network). Another key West clash features FC Dallas playing host to Vancouver in a battle of teams that have slipped out of the playoff places in the West (8:30pm, MLS Direct Kick).
Portland is looking to halt its own recent slide, and have a good chance to just that against a beatable Toronto FC side undergoing some major changes in the front office (11pm, MLS Direct Kick).
The night’s other match include Sporting KC playing host to Columbus (8:30pm, MLS Direct Kick).

Nice training. Would like to see every MLS youth team and full team practice like this…what a good cardio workout…also it developes anticipation of play and speed of play. The results benefit MLS and develops INTERNATIONAL TALENT right here at HOME. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlqxyemEQBs
Rennie OUT.
If a team is having a poor run of form, Toronto FC provides one hell of a cure.
Segares spends the entire game fouling, gets away without a card and then scores an own goal to give Seattle the game, ha.
Buddle again tonight and the Rapids take 3. That more than makes up for not getting that point in KC last week.
So nice to draw LA on an international window.
Again
And as you yourself said, still tough to get points there, which makes it all the nicer to get all 3. So 1 game later and they’ve already got 3 of the 8-9 I believe you projected for them for the remainder of the season…
Well good luck down the stretch!
Some hella good goals by Dallas tonight. Each goal was increasingly better than the last, culminating in a fun half field lob. Look ’em up. My favorite was the volley on the run. Cuz that is a lot harder than it looks.
Segares scores the game winning goal and the Fire ……………oh um, the abysmal season continues.
Jair Benetiz with the goal of the season tonight. Couldn’t have hit it any more perfect.
