Heading across the country, the Vancouver Whitecaps knew that a loss to the Montreal Impact on Saturday afternoon would most likely mean that the playoffs were out of reach.

Against the run of recent results (no wins in previous five matches), the Whitecaps put in a 90 minute performance against the Impact, scoring goals early and late to win, 3-0, at Stade Saputo. The key result on the road was enough to merit the Whitecaps for SBI MLS Team of the Week honors.

The Whitecaps beat out Sporting Kansas City, the San Jose Earthquakes, and the Houston Dynamo.
