Carlo Ancelotti welcomes his former club to the Spanish capital when Real Madrid host Juventus on Wednesday evening at the Estadio Bernabeu.

The two giants of their respective domestic leagues each made big signings over the summer, as Juventus brought in Carlos Tevez and Real Madrid signed Gareth Bale, but the focus will be on Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus’ iconic midfielder Andrea Pirlo. After two draws in their first two matches, Juventus are desperate to earn a win to keep their chances of progressing out of the group alive.

Around Europe in the Champions League, Manchester United look to return to winnings ways when they host Real Sociedad at Old Trafford. Youngster Adnan Januzaj is available to play and the embattled coach David Moyes could select him once more to give his side more creativity in midfield.

Manchester City visit CSKA Moscow where head coach Manuel Pellegrini has complained about the pitch surface, which is covered in parts with sand, while Bayern Munich will try to extend their lead at the top of Group D, and American midfielder Sacha Kljestan and Anderlecht hope to win their first Champions League match of the season when they host Paris Saint-Germain.

  1. How is Real Madrid vs Juve not the premier game and given FS1 slot. Now I have to watch it on non-HD FS2. Same as yesterday why was Celtic-Ajax featured over Dortmund-Arsenal. And please stop the ticker and updates during the games. Don’t you want viewers I watch your replays later in the day. Fox, your soccer coverage continues to fail. Look to NBCSN for guidance.

    • +1 bottom tickers have to stop! Especially on ESPN, where they actually take up game space. When the ball goes close to the near side touch line you can’t see the ball!
